Galvano’s work is included in several collections across the U.S. and Europe.
Book of Tides is a series of monotypes produced from 2009-2013. The works are characterized by saturated fields of greens and aquas populated by specks and scrawls of brush and palette knife work, energetic sweeps of graphite lines, fire-toned pops of color created by inked and stenciled floral, organic and geometric forms embedded amidst elements of erasure, smear, sharp focus, and blur. Recalling the artist’s childhood games by the seaside on Long Island, New York, where sand, water and wind converged and shifted, the series has grown to more than eighty works. Like pages in an endless book, Book of Tides is a chronicle of changes, no two moments alike.
